What is this?
Social networking and our insatiable need for immediate information has replaced that smaller, hometown community that, I believe, is something we can’t — and shouldn’t — live without.
So, I created this little site that brings back that smaller, hometown community feeling. I hope you like it.
Whose businesses are on this site?
I have a lot of friends who own small businesses, or who have put their creative energies into some pretty awesome products. Many of them graduated from Loch Raven High School in the ’80s; others have spent time with me at Towson U, Goucher College, or somewhere between along the teaching and writing circuit.
Who is this site for?
In one word: everyone. I want my friends to have a place to shout to the world what they do. So maybe, instead of going to that big box store down the street, we’ll all check this little list to see if one of our friends can help us out.
We help them. They help us. I like how that works. Small, hometown community comes to mind…

I have a facebook site for my jewely but am still working mainly by word of mouth and through the shows I do about 4 times a year. I am looking to be able to get more of my business out there especially in the community.
