While you and your family were there, Cody and I were at Fort McHenry on the 4th enjoying the day's events. We have been busy visiting all kinds of historic places this summer....Williamsburg, Valley Forge, the Monocacy Battlefield, Fort McHenry. Looks like we need to make a trip to Fort Howard. It saddens me to see and hear that our state is not keeping its history alive. There is a reenactment scheduled for this weekend at Monocacy - the battle that saved Washington DC!

rus---the park used to do a re-enactment on the weekend (before or after) sept. 12th to commemorate the battle. ive been to it, though very long ago. it was very well done w/ francis scott key (& his wife) strolling the grounds answering questions and a re-enactment of the actual battle. i dont know if they do it anymore though. from the looks of things in your blog, perhaps not.
